The students then wandered through Strasbourg's old town, also known as the "Grande Île," a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its picturesque half-timbered houses and winding canals. The highlight of the tour was the magnificent Strasbourg Cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture. With its intricate façade and towering spire, the cathedral has been a marvel for visitors since the Middle Ages. Fun fact: for over 200 years, from 1647 to 1874, the cathedral was the tallest building in the world!
